This
is a tour to the heart of the Puna, this is an
adventure tour that goes into the Andes where we
spend two nights in a small village where there are
not hotels in a shelter with two rooms with 20 beds
each one with bathrooms with hot water and heat.
Day 1: We start
off from Salta driving along Valle de Lerma up to
Campo Quijano town, we continue along Quebrada del
Toro
Following the railways of the Tren a las Nubes, we
make a guided tour in the archaeological site Ruinas
de Tastil, we drive up on along the road up to Abra
Blanca, 4080 m. above sea level and we arrive San
Antonio de Los Cobres, we drive on the road that
goes to the border with Chile, we pass Abra de
Chorrillos, 4650 m. above sea level and Cauchari,
from there we take a detour towards Pocitos, we
cross Salar de Pocitos and driving through the
beautiful area of Siete Curvas we reach Tolar Grande
where we spend the night in the shelter.
Day 2: We drive
through Salar de Arizaro to reach the geological
formation Cono de Arita and we come back to Tolar
Grande, in the afternoon we visit the cave Tunel del
Hombre Muerto and the amazing Ojo de Mar, with
beautiful water colour, we walk around town and we
spend the night in the shelter.
Day 3: Iruya y Quebrada
de Humahuaca 2 days, Abra del Acay 2 days and Valles
CAlchaquies 2 days complete the tour to know the
region.Back to San Antonio de Los Cobres we
visit Viaducto La Polvorilla the famous railway
bridge of Tren a Las Nubes, we drive to Abra Blanca
and we continue through Quebrada del Toro looking
for Valle de Lerma and Salta city.
